Puja's Mehndi

I was so absolutely lucky to get to photograph Puja tonight getting her henna applied for this Saturday's wedding ceremony! Adam and I are so very excited to get to be a part of her and Marcus' day! Take a look at the gorgeous bride...

It was a wonderful evening with lots great music and dancing, the air was full of energy and excitement for the days ahead!

I even got to have some henna put on my hand (below), I love it!

See you guys tomorrow night!!

Andrea and Allan's Newcastle Wedding!

Allan and Andrea could not have asked for better weather for their gorgeous Newcastle wedding last weekend...

The day started out at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel, where everyone got ready, and the couple had their first-look.

How cute are those shoes?!

Andrea's Monique Lhuillier dress was absolutely stunning, above, and we loved Allan's typewriter key cuff links below!

Katy Leiser of Unveiled Events did excellent work coordinating the wedding, she was absolutely fantastic to work with!

Bonnie from New Renaissance Cakes made this amazing cake! It was fabulous!

The husband and wife team of Sound Playback Productions, on the left in the photo above, were the videographers Andrea and Allan hired to shoot their amazing day. Aaron and Martha were so much fun to work with and we loved that they shot with Super 8 film!

Congratulations to you both!!

Nicole and Dave's Engagement Session!

We had an amazing time with Nicole and Dave at their engagement session earlier this month. They are such a fantastic couple; we can't wait for their wedding in September... and a week later we'll get to shoot them in Paris, our favorite city, what a dream!

We decided to meet at Volunteer Park on Capitol Hill. We had fun hanging out with them and wandering around the park.

After the park we headed down to Pike Place and Post Alley. At the moment Dave lives in Sun Valley and Nicole lives in Portland, so it was fun to capture some "Seattle" shots with both of them.

Thanks for a great evening, see you both soon!

Elizabeth and Clay's Wedding!

Betsey and Clay met when they were in third grade, they played on the same soccer team! They started dating in 10th grade and after finishing college they held their hometown wedding... last Saturday was a gorgeous Western Washington day! From Robinson Point Park, on Vashon Island, Mount Rainier looks like you can reach out and touch it!

Clay and his groomsmen were comfortable in their suit shirts and ties, perfect beach wedding attire.

Betsey's grandmother's cameo is gorgeous and made a wonderful something old. She tied it around the base of her bouquet for the day.

They looked like they had just stepped out of a magazine!

The Point Robinson Lighthouse was built in 1885 and is still a working lighthouse today, we had a blast shooting in and around it with the couple and their wedding party!

We could not believe our luck in the weather, Kim and I just loved the view!

I love capturing the groom after the ceremony playing with his ring, trying to get used to the feel of the metal on his finger.

Clay and Betsy had their new dog, Norbert, join in on the day's events...

Enjoy Mexico you two! Congratulations!

Charlotte Grace at the Park!

We were lucky to get to do another photo shoot of Charlotte last week, we photographed her parent's wedding a couple of years ago and we've done a few photo shoot's since then. This time we met Diane, Mark and Charlotte Grace at a park in Bellevue to play.... we had a great morning!

I loved how into the book Charlotte was above, it was adorable!

We finished the morning by heading to a nearby French Patisserie to get pastries and coffee... it was so great to watch Charlotte pick out her treat (she was a pro at it because she just returned from the South of France!)

We loved seeing you guys... thanks again for the great morning. Can't wait till next time!

Avrimi and Chavi's Wedding

Chavi & Avrimi were married a few weeks ago in a beautiful Jewish ceremony marked by wind, rain... and even some sun!

Above is the groom, his father and the bride's father on their way to veil his bride during the traditional Bedeken.

The rain had threatened us all day, but we only had a couple of drops... even as the couple came down the aisle it was sunny, but that did not last long!

As the ceremony got underway, the rain came, the water pooled in the center of the chuppa, I am enthralled with the water drops off the brim of the groom's hat!

I love the shot below of the Rabbi (also the bride's father), a huge thanks to Mike Goldstein, assistant shooter extraordinaire for that one!

We can never get enough of the dancing at a Jewish ceremony... it is truly incredible. Everyone dances, from the very young to the very old, everyone dances.

I love the Hora, we've never seen tables used before (above)! There was so much energy in the room, as soon as the groom got into the air he was bombarded with napkins. The napkins were also used as a jump rope for the bride (below).

The dancing went on long after we went home... it was a great night!

Life....

I've been so inspired by one of the photographers I met in L.A. this past winter, Elizabeth Messina. We've become great friends over the past few months, and we're even collaborating on an amazing international project planned for next year!! More to come soon :).

One of the many things that I'm inspired by, and that Elizabeth does so well, is to capture her daily life in a beautiful and simple way. So yesterday I picked up the camera with the intention of capturing some of the beauty in my life for my Mom for Mother's Day, here are some of my favorites...
Happy Mother's Day, Mom!

Great Lake Swimmers

While Kim has been busy down in Southern California with the Junebug girls I've been having a great time working on our new vegetable garden, among other things and on March 30th I was lucky enough to photograph the band, Great Lake Swimmers!!! They are one of my faves, so I was really excited to do the shoot.

In the pictures above and in the photo below, the lead singer, Tony Dekker, was writing a new song. I just followed him around while he played and edited the song. It was really great to see the process for him. The shot above will be in Eliza Magazine!

Above is Erik Arneson who plays Banjo, Mandolin, and Guitar. Greg Millson is on Drums below.

The band played the new song Tony had been writing for the sound check. It was sublime to be there hearing them play this for the first time ever. Brilliant!

Here is the whole band with Darcy Yates on Upright Bass and Julie Fader on Keyboards.

Fun Band shots......the Tractor Tavern in Ballard was the perfect setting for this shoot.

Thanks to the Great Lake Swimmers for their time & their music!

Jen and Dwight's Wedding!

This past weekend we were at the Willows Lodge in Woodinville for Jen and Dwight's beautiful spring wedding! They are such a wonderful couple... their day flowed smoothly, and everything was effortless, especially capturing the beauty.

Their first look was so great... I loved how Jen waved at Dwight, above, when he turned around to see her! She was sooooo gorgeous in her lace overlay dress.

We took the two of them all around the property of the lodge, despite the threat of a serious downpour they were game! The willow trees were perfect, I think they give the photos such great texture and depth.

I love the sense of space in the shot above and the orange of the Willows' interior.

We had a blast with Dwight and Jen's wedding party too. Thanks guys for making our job easy!

While Kim was photographing the guys below, I caught Jen waiting for her turn to jump in above. I am always proud to capture such intimate moments throughout the day.

Before the ceremony started Kim caught Dwight gazing happily at his bride in the photo below, as she waited with her Dad in the photo above. I love his beaming smile! The beading on Jen's dress was exquisite, and shone perfectly!

I love the look of pure joy in their faces above!

After dinner, toasts came from Jen's dad, her Maid of Honor and Dwight's best man. The cake, from Simply Desserts, was next...

Congratulations, Jen and Dwight, thanks for letting us be part of your wedding day!

Junebug Lingerie Shoot!!

Last month we got to help shoot the latest Junebug Weddings Fashion Report... all about bridal lingerie!!! It was a blast... please check it out on Junebug!

A Soolip Wedding!

Things have been quite hectic around here lately! I've been lucky enough to travel down to L.A. with the Junebug girls a few times in the last 6 months. Junebug is expanding to Southern California and we've been meeting with vendors (Mindy Weiss and Elizabeth Messina to name a couple of my favorites!) and learning more about the area. On our last trip we were the official photographers for the A Soolip Wedding show. It is a high end bridal show held in an old empty cathedral in downtown LA... so beautiful!!! I had to share a few of my shots...

The models and the dresses from Kirstie Kelly Couture were amazing!!! I couldn't stop shooting the girls :)

I loved being able to get backstage, it was fun to see all the work going on behind the scenes...

Instead of a regular runway fashion show the girls walked around the floor independantly in different dresses all afternoon. It was fun to have them mingling with the brides and to see the dresses up close!

The people at the show were so great, we even had a few celebrity sightings... yes, that is Rachel Hunter below with one of the wedding show's founders, Wanda Wen! :)

Courtney and Brian's Wedding!!!

This past weekend we photographed Courtney and Brian's wedding at the awesome event space, SODO Park by Herban Feast. It was a fantastic affair, thank you guys for including us... we had a blast!

Maegan from Bridezilla Events kept everything running smoothly all day long, she really made it easy for Courtney and Brian to relax and enjoy their day! Thanks Maegan!

The flowers were so fantastic thanks to Kendra from Loves Me Flowers, I loved the way the white went with the simple tree branches... perfect for an early Spring wedding!

Everyone danced like mad to DJ Austin Beaver's great music choices... Adam and I didn't want to leave, we ended up sticking around for an extra hour just to dance with everyone, it was so much fun!
