Life....

I've been so inspired by one of the photographers I met in L.A. this past winter, Elizabeth Messina. We've become great friends over the past few months, and we're even collaborating on an amazing international project planned for next year!! More to come soon :).

One of the many things that I'm inspired by, and that Elizabeth does so well, is to capture her daily life in a beautiful and simple way. So yesterday I picked up the camera with the intention of capturing some of the beauty in my life for my Mom for Mother's Day, here are some of my favorites...
Happy Mother's Day, Mom!

Great Lake Swimmers

While Kim has been busy down in Southern California with the Junebug girls I've been having a great time working on our new vegetable garden, among other things and on March 30th I was lucky enough to photograph the band, Great Lake Swimmers!!! They are one of my faves, so I was really excited to do the shoot.

In the pictures above and in the photo below, the lead singer, Tony Dekker, was writing a new song. I just followed him around while he played and edited the song. It was really great to see the process for him. The shot above will be in Eliza Magazine!

Above is Erik Arneson who plays Banjo, Mandolin, and Guitar. Greg Millson is on Drums below.

The band played the new song Tony had been writing for the sound check. It was sublime to be there hearing them play this for the first time ever. Brilliant!

Here is the whole band with Darcy Yates on Upright Bass and Julie Fader on Keyboards.

Fun Band shots......the Tractor Tavern in Ballard was the perfect setting for this shoot.

Thanks to the Great Lake Swimmers for their time & their music!

Jen and Dwight's Wedding!

This past weekend we were at the Willows Lodge in Woodinville for Jen and Dwight's beautiful spring wedding! They are such a wonderful couple... their day flowed smoothly, and everything was effortless, especially capturing the beauty.

Their first look was so great... I loved how Jen waved at Dwight, above, when he turned around to see her! She was sooooo gorgeous in her lace overlay dress.

We took the two of them all around the property of the lodge, despite the threat of a serious downpour they were game! The willow trees were perfect, I think they give the photos such great texture and depth.

I love the sense of space in the shot above and the orange of the Willows' interior.

We had a blast with Dwight and Jen's wedding party too. Thanks guys for making our job easy!

While Kim was photographing the guys below, I caught Jen waiting for her turn to jump in above. I am always proud to capture such intimate moments throughout the day.

Before the ceremony started Kim caught Dwight gazing happily at his bride in the photo below, as she waited with her Dad in the photo above. I love his beaming smile! The beading on Jen's dress was exquisite, and shone perfectly!

I love the look of pure joy in their faces above!

After dinner, toasts came from Jen's dad, her Maid of Honor and Dwight's best man. The cake, from Simply Desserts, was next...

Congratulations, Jen and Dwight, thanks for letting us be part of your wedding day!
